November Wishlist

I've seen a number of other makers such as BlondeChicken and Laura Bucci have little (or not so little) to-do lists, wishlists and manifestos of plans and things they want to make for the upcoming month on their blogs.  I am going to try it this month too, as I really do like lists (and checking things off them).  As an artist, I always have soooo many ideas floating in my head, at the most random times too!

So here is my November Wishlist:
1.) Make more slippers and booties for the holiday season, to give as gifts and to put in my shop.   Preferably with recycled yarns too.  Oh and make a pair for myself- why do I never keep anything for me?!

2.) Learn how to knit thrummed mittens; which I've always wanted to make and have.  These type of mitts were developed in Newfoundland and have little "thrums" of fuzzy fiber on the inside to keep you extra warm.

3.) Make more eco-trivets/potholders: I still have so much great, colorful fabric I want to cut up and make trivets with.  (On a side note: one of the remaining few eco trivets in my shop is in the etsy voter this week!!  Thank-you so much to everyone who voted for my candy corespun yarn last week- it made 5th place!!!)

4.) Continue to make more fingerless gloves.

5.) Crochet more holiday decorations like these.

6.)Knit a hat or two.. great patterns here.

7.) Start something for a yarn bombing project.

8.) This one might not happen, but I thought I'd put it on here anyway: make soap.  I took a soapmaking course last fall and I have finally come to the end of my soap.  I would love to make more and I almost have all the supplies I need.

I will report back in about a month and hopefully have pictures to show how I did on my wishlist!

I love this idea of a wishlist. Can't wait to see your 'thrummed' mittens - they sound very warm.
(Thanks for visiting my blog Ashley - it's always nice to get a comment from you)

I admire your courage in posting your wishlist! I'm too afraid of not meeting my own expectations of myself, but it would be a good challenge for me. I've never seen anything like those thrummed mittens--they would be good for Manitoba winters!

Uh, I haven't published my to-do list this month and last. I think it's actually not a bad idea as it might give people an insight of what might be coming up in your store. Plus from the comments I got, I know some people are interested on how I decide to do my bookkeeping, amongst other things. That's a new word for me...'thrummed.'
