Web Gems: Dudeism.com

You may not know this about me, but I am a big fan of the movie, The Big Lebowski, and the Coen Brothers in general. Over the years, the film has grown into quite the cult classic, with the Lebowski Fest happening in quite a few major US cities, an abundance of Lebowski merchandise, and now... a religion? Yep, Dudeism. And how did I come across this? Stupid, annoying facebook advertisements. But it is quite a webpage; you can become ordained as a dudeist priest, learn about great dudes in history (and, the word dude is not limited to the male gender; apparently most linguists contend that "Dudette" is not in keeping with the "parlance of our times"), read the Take it easy Manifesto, and of course, purchase memorabilia (because what religion doesn't have memorabilia that can be bought?).

Anyways, if you're looking for a way to waste time, er, I mean, become enlightened in the ways of the dude, check it out.

oh, and p.s.- if you liked the Big Lebowski, you should see the new Coen Bros movie, "Burn After Reading"
